How it works
How a story becomes an episode
Behind every Epitale episode are a narrator who plays the story with you, a director who plans it into scenes, and a cast of voices. Here is what happens at each step.

1. You start a story
Type an idea or pick one, choose anime or realistic, and optionally a starting character. Epitale builds the world, the opening and the cast.
2. You play a chapter
You chat as the lead for about ten turns. The narrator keeps track of characters, places and promises, introduces new characters when the story needs them, and steers toward a chapter ending.
3. The director plans the episode
The chapter is planned into ten to twelve vertical panels: what each one shows, the camera move, who speaks, the narration between scenes, sound effects and a music cue for each act. Characters are drawn from their reference portraits so they look the same in every panel.
4. You watch it
The first act plays for free while the rest is drawn. Unlock the ending with tokens. Voices, narration, music and sounds are mixed so dialogue always comes through.
5. You make it yours and share it
Adjust the camera, music and on-screen text; with Plus, redraw scenes, rewrite or re-voice lines, or ask for a director's cut. Save the episode as a video, post it anywhere, or share it with the Epitale community.
