Privacy Policy

Epitale ("we", "us") turns stories you write into illustrated, voiced episodes. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and how you delete it. Questions: support@incrediapp.com.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| An account ID. You start as a guest; if you choose Save your progress, the email address of the Apple, Google or email account you link | To keep your stories, episodes, tokens and subscription across reinstalls and devices |
| Story pitches and messages you write, and the story, characters, images and audio generated from them, including a technical record of how each story and episode was made | To run the story, render and edit your episodes, and fix problems with them |
| What you share with the community: your handle, display name and bio, posts, shared characters, likes, follows and blocks | To run the community. Posts, profiles and shared characters are public: anyone with the app or the link can see them |
| Token balance, daily streak, usage counters and your Epitale Plus status (product, expiry and the store's purchase token or receipt) | To run the token economy and subscriptions, and to prevent abuse |
| App settings: language, notification choices, the hour you usually play, and a push token for this device | To show the app in your language and send the notifications you allow (episode ready, daily reminder, social activity) |
| Your country, derived from your IP address when the app starts (the IP address itself is not stored) | To set rewards for your region and prevent abuse |
| Install source: the Google Play install referrer, and for clicks on our share and campaign links a one-way hash of the IP address and the browser user agent | To learn which shared episodes and campaigns bring new players |
| App usage events (for example story started, episode watched, purchase started) and device information (model, OS version) | To understand how the app is used and improve it |
| Crash reports (device model, OS version, stack traces) | To find and fix crashes |
| Content reports you file and moderation records | To review reported content and enforce the content rules |
We do not ask for, and you should not write, real personal information about yourself or others in stories. We do not use your data for advertising and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who processes your data
We use these service providers to run Epitale. They process data on our behalf, only for that purpose:
| Provider | What they receive |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (hosting, database, file storage, sign-in, Cloud Functions, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, App Check) | All of the data above, stored in the United States |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Your story text, to write the narration, plan and edit episodes, and check text against the content rules |
| fal.ai | Image prompts and character descriptions derived from your story, to draw panels and portraits |
| ElevenLabs | Dialogue, narration and recap lines, and descriptions of sounds and music, to generate voices, sound effects and music |
| Apple and Google (App Store, Google Play) | Purchases are made through your store account under the store's own policy; we receive the purchase receipt or token to confirm your subscription with the store |
| Apple and Google (Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In) | Only if you link one of these accounts: they confirm your identity and share your email address with us |
If we add rewarded ads, this policy will be updated before they launch.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept until you delete it. In the app, open Settings → Delete account and data: this immediately deletes your stories, messages, episodes, generated images and audio, your community profile, posts, shared characters, likes and follows, your token balance and your account. Moderation records about suspended accounts may be kept to enforce the content rules. Crash reports are kept for up to 90 days, and usage analytics for up to 14 months. Hashed link-click records are not linked to your account and are kept for up to 90 days.
Age
Epitale is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using Epitale, contact us and we will delete the account.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, and to object to processing. Use in-app deletion, or email us to exercise any right. We do not sell your personal information.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our providers. Only your account can read your stories and episodes unless you share them; generated media is served through unguessable links.
Changes
We will post changes here and update the date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
